Farm & Forest School

Creating connection & rebuilding our relationship with the land.

Nature Hill’s outdoor education is inspired by the foundation of Scandinavian Forest School, whereby learning follows a child-centred, and inquiry-led curriculum. Farm & Forest School sessions are focused on increasing mindfulness, and strengthening bonds between children, nature and animals.

Our Programs

PRESCHOOL

Ages 2.5 - 5 years.
With a 1:5 facilitator to learner ratio, our preschool sessions help to develop and strengthen children’s confidence, self-esteem and compassion for others, through hands-on experience caring for the farm’s animals, and time spent outdoors connecting with nature.

School-Aged

Ages 5-13 years (SK-Gr.8)
Geared towards home-schooling families, or those in the public system looking for alternative education options. Our Elementary-Aged Farm & Forest School Sessions run every Friday in seasonal blocks, with a focus on outdoor activities that allow for connection to curriculum topics such as science, mathematics, literacy, the arts and physical education.

Day Camps

All Ages.
Our summer & winter day camps take place at our second location on Norway Lake road, with 300 acres of pasture, forest and wetlands to explore. Everyday is unique and co-created between the children and their educators, holding space to build a life-long relationship with the natural world through the foundations of play and inquiry-based learning.
